TripleRoute is a tool for finding supervisors and keeping a trustworthy record of supervised practice. Because licensure decisions matter so much to the people who use it, we want to be precise about what the product can and cannot tell you.
Licensing boards decide
TripleRoute is not a licensing authority, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for any licensing board. Only your board decides whether your education, examination, experience and supervision meet its requirements. No record, progress figure, label or status in TripleRoute is a determination that your hours will be accepted.
Requirement information is our reading, with its source
Where we show a jurisdiction's licensure requirements, they are our interpretation of publicly published statutes, rules and board guidance. Every requirement shows where we read it and when it was last checked, and each jurisdiction is labeled by how far it has been confirmed:
- Verified — transcribed from the board's own published rules, cited, and reviewed by a second person.
- Provisional — researched, but at least one rule is not yet confirmed against the board's own text. Check before relying on it.
- Generic — we have not modeled this jurisdiction's rules. You enter your own requirement figures.
Rules change, sometimes without notice, and boards may interpret their rules differently from how we read them. Where a rule is unclear, we say so rather than guess. This information is not legal advice. Confirm current requirements with your board before relying on anything in TripleRoute.
Progress figures are planning tools
Figures such as "currently countable" apply our reading of the rules to the hours you have recorded. They depend on the accuracy of what you and your supervisor enter and on the rule version in use. They are a way to catch problems early, not a promise about the outcome of an application.
Evidence labels describe evidence
Labels such as self-reported, supervisor reviewed or system observed describe how an hour was established. They do not describe whether a board will accept it. "Supervisor verified" means a supervisor reviewed and confirmed the entry — it does not mean a board has verified anything.
Supervisor verification is a point-in-time check
We check a supervisor's license before listing them. That check confirms a license appeared valid when we looked. It does not guarantee the supervisor's competence or conduct, that they meet every requirement to supervise for your particular license or jurisdiction, or that their license remains in good standing afterwards. Confirm a supervisor's eligibility with your board.
Supervision is between professionals
Clinical supervision is provided by supervisors, who are independent licensed professionals responsible for the supervision they give. TripleRoute does not provide, direct or evaluate clinical supervision or clinical care.
Your professional responsibilities remain yours
Using TripleRoute does not change your obligations under your licensing rules, your profession's code of ethics, or confidentiality laws. Supervision case discussion in TripleRoute must remain de-identified.
Sealed records are evidence you control
A sealed record shows what was recorded, who signed it and when, and whether it has been altered since. You decide whether and with whom to share it. A board is free to request additional evidence or to apply its own standards to what you provide.
