TripleRoute Supervision

What TripleRoute does, and what it does not.

TripleRoute keeps a record of supervised practice that the people involved have signed. It does not decide whether a licensing board will accept that record. Both halves are set out here so that you know which is which before you rely on either.

What it does not do

It does not decide what a board accepts
TripleRoute is not a licensing authority. A complete record here is not an approval, and only your board can tell you that your hours count.
It does not send anything to your board
Applications, plans and reports are filed by you and your supervisor. TripleRoute can remind you one is due and record that you sent it.
It does not hold client records
It is not an electronic health record. There is nowhere to enter a client’s name, date of birth or notes, and case discussion must stay de-identified.
It does not count everything a state’s rule says
Hours, proportions, periods and deadlines are counted. Conditions that are not numbers, such as how supervision may be held, are listed on your state’s page under “Also in the rule” for you to keep track of yourself.
It does not publish requirements it has not had reviewed
Where a state or a profession has not been researched and approved by a named reviewer, the page says so and shows no figures. You can still record hours and enter your own totals.
It does not employ or vouch for supervisors
Supervisors are independent professionals. We check a license and what a board requires of a supervisor; we do not assess the quality of anyone’s supervision.
It does not give legal advice
Our reading of a rule is a reading. Where it matters, confirm it with the board or with a lawyer.

What it does

Lists supervisors whose license a person has checked
A member of our staff compares each supervisor’s license with the licensing board’s own record before they are listed, and the date of that check is kept.
Tells you whether a supervisor can qualify you
Where your state’s requirements are published here, each supervisor is checked against them for your pathway and the answer is shown with its reason.
Records your hours, and who stands behind each one
Every hour is labeled as self-reported, reviewed by your supervisor, verified by your supervisor or verified by your employer. The labels are never merged into one total.
Seals a signed period so that it cannot be changed
Once you and your supervisor have signed a period it is closed. Nobody, including our staff, can edit or delete it. A correction is added beside it and the original stays.
Shows your progress against your state’s published requirements
For states we have researched, each figure is cited to the rule it comes from and carries the date a named reviewer approved it.
Gives you the record to take away
You can download your record as a document a board or an employer can read.

Who decides

Your state’s licensing board decides what counts toward a license. TripleRoute records what happened and who signed it.
