  • Hours earned at any time from first licensure up to your second renewal may be used for that second renewal.
  • Presenting, research, publication, teaching, authorship and board service together count for no more than 20 hours.
  • A licensee who examines, attends, counsels or treats children or adults in Iowa also completes mandatory reporter training (child abuse, dependent adult abuse): a two-hour first course, then one hour every three years.
  • Up to half of the hours earned beyond the minimum in one cycle may be carried into the next.
