Experience tracking
Hours you can prove, not hours you remember.
Most supervised hours live in a spreadsheet on somebody else's laptop until the week a board asks for them. TripleRoute records them as they happen, says plainly how well each one is evidenced, and locks every signed period so the record you hand over is the record that was signed.
Supervised experience, in one paragraph
Supervised experience is the practice a pre-licensed clinician completes under a licensed supervisor before a board will grant independent licensure. Boards count it in hours, usually in more than one category, and ask a supervisor to attest to it.
- Two totals
- Supervision hours and practice hours, never added together
- Four labels
- How well each hour is evidenced, shown on the hour
- After signing
- Sealed. Nobody can edit or delete it, including us
What a label says
"Verified" is four different claims. We show which one.
A single tick that could mean any of these means none of them, so each hour carries its own label.
- Self-reported
- You typed it. Nobody else has looked at it yet.
- Reviewed
- Your supervisor read it afterwards and agreed it is right.
- Present and signed
- Your supervisor was there for it and signed for it.
- Observed by TripleRoute
- The session took place in a TripleRoute room, so the time was recorded by the system and not by either of you.
How a period becomes a record
Logged, reviewed, signed, sealed.
-
You log as you go
Supervision in one column, practice in another, each in the categories your pathway uses.
-
Your supervisor reviews
They see what is waiting for them, agree it or send it back with a reason, and nothing is counted on their behalf.
-
They sign the period
An electronic signature on the whole period, with what was signed shown to them before they sign.
-
It is sealed
The signed period is fixed with a digest chained to the period before it. A change to any earlier record would break every one after it, which is how a later reader can check nothing was altered.
When something goes wrong
The awkward cases are the reason it is built this way.
- A mistake in a sealed period
- It is corrected with an amendment that sits beside the original. The record shows what was said and that it was corrected. Nothing is rewritten.
- Your supervisor leaves
- Sealed hours stay sealed and stay yours. Both of you keep the right to read and download them, permanently.
- A payment lapses
- The workspace locks until it is settled. Your signed record does not: you can download it yourself at any time.
- Your state's rules change
- Your progress is measured against the version of the rules in force when your supervision began, and stays measured against it.
TripleRoute keeps a record of supervised practice. It is not an electronic health record: there is no field for a client's name, date of birth, record number, notes or treatment plan, and none may be entered. Whether a board accepts any record is that board's decision.
Questions about the record
Can anyone change my hours after my supervisor signs?
No. Once a period is sealed there is no way to edit or delete it for any role, including an administrator and including us, and the database refuses the change as well. A correction is added beside the original and never replaces it.
Why are supervision hours and practice hours kept apart?
Because boards count them separately and do not treat one as a substitute for the other. Adding them into one figure produces a number no board asks for.
Can I take my record with me?
Yes. You can download your signed record yourself at any time, whether or not your supervisor is still on TripleRoute and whether or not a payment is up to date.
Do hours from a practicum count toward licensure here?
They are shown beside your licensure hours and never added to them. Which practicum hours a board counts toward a license is the board's decision.
