- The hours are those completed in the 24 months before renewal.
- The remaining hours must be counseling in nature and support your statement of intent; a specialization on that statement needs hours of its own.
- Holding both a counseling and a family-therapy license, the 24 hours (3 in ethics) cover both, with a balance of counseling and family-therapy content.
- Passing the NCE, NCMHCE or AMFTRB examination at the national pass score may stand in for the hours.
